Discover Asia, a continent brimming with diversity
Asia is the largest continent on Earth and captivates visitors with its extraordinary diversity of cultures, landscapes and travel experiences. From futuristic metropolises and tropical islands to millennia-old cultures – every region has its own unique character. A trip to Asia can therefore take many different forms: vibrant cities in East Asia, exotic beaches in South-East Asia or fascinating cultures along the historic Silk Road. With its diverse regions, Asia offers countless opportunities for unforgettable journeys.
Along the legendary Silk Road, important trading cities such as Samarkand and Bukhara once flourished. Magnificent mosques, ornate madrasas and historic caravan routes bear witness to a time when merchants and travellers journeyed between Europe and Asia.
East Asia combines millennia-old traditions with cutting-edge technology. Cities such as Seoul and Tokyo captivate visitors with their futuristic architecture, whilst temples, palaces and traditional gardens offer a glimpse into the region’s rich history.
South Asia captivates visitors with its vibrant colours, impressive architecture and deep-rooted spirituality. Landmarks such as the Taj Mahal, Buddhist temples and lush green tea plantations characterise this fascinating region.
This region is renowned for its tropical landscapes, fascinating cultures and diverse cuisine. From impressive temples and bustling markets to idyllic islands, South-East Asia is one of the world’s most popular travel destinations.

Cinematically stunning destinations in Asia
Asia captivates not only travellers but also filmmakers from all over the world. Futuristic cities, centuries-old temples, tropical islands and spectacular natural landscapes provide a stunning backdrop for international films and TV series.
Whether it’s the neon lights of Tokyo, the idyllic beaches of Thailand or the colourful palaces of India – many places on the continent have become world-famous through cinema. Visitors to these destinations discover landscapes and cities that are often just as fascinating as they appear on screen.
A trip to these locations is therefore not only a journey of discovery into new cultures, but sometimes also a step straight into a film scene.
- South Korea PARASITE (2019) – This Oscar-winning film showcases the modern side of Seoul and Korean city life.
- Thailand THE BEACH (2000) – The spectacular islands of southern Thailand were made world-famous by this film.

Travelling in Asia – a matter of taste
Caroline’s connection to Thailand goes far beyond simply enjoying lovely holidays: for her, the Land of Smiles is a true passion. Having visited the country more than ten times, she is familiar not only with the flavours and colours of Thai cuisine, but also with the markets, traditions and culinary rituals that make every trip so special. Our product designer takes you on a delightful journey of discovery, sharing her personal favourite spots, unforgettable taste experiences and her very special love for Thai cuisine.
For me, Thailand isn’t just a country you visit – you have to experience it. It starts with the warmth of the people and their smiles, and then there’s this veritable feast of emotions. Every time, I am overwhelmed anew by the colours – of fabrics, fruits and flowers – by the flavours ranging from sweet, salty, sour and spicy, by the landscapes and temples. And the local rhythm also brings me back to the essentials time and again and gives me a deep sense of inner peace.
If I had to choose just one, it would be Chiang Mai: because of its pleasant climate, its setting amidst mountains and forests, the atmospheric festivals, the colourful markets, the rice paddies, the hill tribe villages, the local crafts, the significantly lower cost of living compared to the cities in the south – and, of course, because of the cookery courses.
There are loads 😊 … but I’ll go for the iconic pad thai.
Yes, several times – both at cooking workshops organised specifically for this purpose and quite spontaneously in local restaurants, because people there simply love sharing and getting together.
All three – but for me, enjoyment comes first: with incredible food on every street corner, lively night markets, a vibrant city life and colourful festivals. Next comes relaxation, with idyllic beaches, spas and massages, as well as the generally very laid-back atmosphere. And, of course, adventure: exploring national parks and mountain villages or – for those who prefer a more active holiday – trekking in the mountains of the north, mountain bike tours, ziplining, diving or snorkelling.
Yes, I cook Thai food at home very often, because not only is it particularly healthy, but I can also find most of the ingredients very easily here. My favourites include pad thai with prawns, green curry with chicken, chicken with cashew nuts, tom kha kai soup and fresh green papaya salad.
